As of June 2010 I have joined forces with a new band called The Velveteen Playboys. We are currently wrapping up the recording of a new CD as yet untitled. Watch for a web site launch in the next few months.
Who am I ?
I was a founding member of Epic recording artists ’til tuesday. Aimee Mann was the singer and chief songwriter in that band. I was a co writer on the first two records, both of which went gold, including the top 10 hit Voices Carry. As a member of ’til tuesday I toured all over the U.S. Canada, Europe and Japan. We opened for acts like Hall and Oates, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Moody Blues, Rick Springfield and Cheap Trick. We did a few headline tours as well. The group won an MTV music award for best new artist in a video. Three singles went into the top 40. We were written about in various publications like Rolling Stone, People Magazine, Spin, Interview etc.
I’ve been playing music professionally since 1983. I’ve played with some people you've heard of and many more you haven't. I’ve fronted my own power trio and I’ve sung acapella doo wop and lots more in between. The picture above shows me in my first band at age 14 in 1972
